Following a press conference and protest by the “She-male Association” on Tuesday against beating and humiliation of two of their members, Sufi Moeen, the ASWJ Muzaffargarh district president, held a press conference on Wednesday demanding the police arrest the association’s members.

Two [transgenders] had registered an FIR against a landlord and his men in Mailsi for trying to rape them and shaving their heads on Monday night. They said they were having a birthday party, when the men broke into their house and victimised them.

This is disgusting. There is no legitimate reason for the JI or the ASWJ to attack the transgender community in Multan or anywhere else in Pakistan. If they were to use Islam as an excuse to attack these people, they are wrong; Islam protects transgenders. If they were to use nationalism as a reason to attack the transgenders of Pakistan, they are wrong again; Our constitution protects transgenders, NADRA is working on providing them ID as Khwaja-sara (Urdu for transgender)on their NICs, nothing is above the constitution in this regard. Pakistan’s Supreme Court ruled that “any Pakistani who does not consider themselves male or female should be allowed to choose an alternative sex when applying for national ID cards” among other rights as Pakistani citizens. Who the hell are these jerks to say anything? That landlord deserves to be in jail.

This is insane. I’m writing to the Supreme Court of Pakistan right now.
